Oct. 28--Citi Bike will expand into Brooklyn, Queens and parts of Manhattan after officials reached a long-awaited rescue plan that includes a $30 million infusion, a higher membership fee and putting operations in the hands of a former MTA chief. The expansion means a total of 12,000 bikes and 700 docks, a doubling of the current system's 330 stations and 6,000 rides.

A series of problems forced delays for commuters on Metro-North Railroad's New Haven line in Connecticut and the Harlem and Hudson lines in New York. The commuter rail system said Friday morning a train with mechanical problems at the 125th Street station led to congestion and trains were rerouted.
